Head

"Somewhere,
someday, in a Cavestomp or Las Vegas Grind fest of the future, Nixon's
Head will be the headliner that graying garage fans return home to maniacally
enthuse over in chat rooms across the land. Meanwhile, the band's got
the now sound-shoot, make that the wow sound!-down cold. Get behind the
band before it gets past you."
- Fred Mills, Phoenix New Times
With a vision that borders on myopic, Nixon's Head continues to bust through
the nooks and crannies of the 3-minute pop song with a sound the Camden
Courier-Post aptly characterized as "The Standells meet Squeeze."
The band paved its own way onto the Philadelphia underground scene in
1986 with the self-produced EP The Doug Factor… Another EP; a single;
and many raised, beer-soaked fists followed until the usual suspects ground
operations to a halt in 1991. Since reforming in 1998, these Philadelphia
torchbearers for garage-pop have released 2 critically acclaimed CDs,
Gourmet and Take It!, and appeared on numerous comps. A
new album of darker material than recent vintage is in the works.
